Resources

There are many great resources that students can access online to continue learning outside of lessons. Below are a few websites that I frequently recommend to students, as well as my favorite places to go for bassoon equipment and sheet music.

Dr. Kristin Wolfe Jensen is a professor at the University of Texas at Austin and provides many great resources on her website, including video lessons, exercises, and tutorials.

Eryn Oft is a performer and professor with a popular YouTube channel. Her videos cover everything from reed making to tips for beginners and bassoon history.

This is one of the best resources for students learning bassoon fingerings. It contains standard fingerings, trills, and advanced techniques.

Midwest Musical Imports has new and used bassoons, tons of accessories, cane for reed making, and any other equipment you may need!

TrevCo-Varner Music is a great place to find and purchase just about any bassoon sheet music you want or need.

The Orchestral Bassoon provides free sheet music for popular bassoon excerpts, as well as excerpt recordings to help prepare for auditions.
